Water temperature is very important when brewing coffee. A thermometer can be used for many methods — such as espresso, pour-over, filter coffee, Aeropress, and French Press. The right water temperature (usually between 90–96°C) helps to extract all the flavors from the coffee.
A thermometer is also useful when preparing milk foam. For best results, milk should be frothed to a temperature between 55–65°C. At this temperature, the milk has the best sweetness, creaminess, and texture.
