Key features of the Femobook A5 electric coffee grinder:

  • 53 mm stainless-steel conical burrs – allow grinding for espresso and alternative brewing methods. You can therefore use one grinder for different ways of preparing coffee.
  • Fine adjustment in 8 μm increments – the adjustment mechanism offers 100 clicks per rotation and a range of almost three full rotations. The small increments help fine-tune espresso extraction.
  • Battery operation and USB-C charging – you do not need a power outlet or a power cable on your work surface while grinding. The manufacturer also confirms power bank charging and the ability to grind while charging, expanding the options for use beyond the home kitchen.
  • Approximately 30–50 grinding sessions per charge – this is an indicative battery-life figure stated by the manufacturer. The actual number of cycles depends on the beans used, roast level and grind size setting; fine grinding may consume more energy.
  • Vertical grounds path – the bean inlet, burrs and outlet are aligned vertically, shortening the coffee’s path through the grinder. The internal brush helps release trapped particles and reduce retention, meaning the ground coffee left inside the mechanism.
  • Magnetic components and tool-free disassembly – the bean hopper, grounds cup and removable grinding assembly provide convenient access during maintenance. Regular cleaning is easier and helps limit residue from the previous coffee carrying over into the next dose.
  • Timed automatic shut-off – the current version ends the grinding cycle after 90 seconds. The manufacturer has replaced the older system, which detected the end of grinding based on resistance in the mechanism.
