Sometimes you ask us for our opinion on which capsule coffee machine to choose considering the use of our refillable capsules. Dolce Gusto? Nespresso? Cafissimo? Or another?
First of all, it is a question of budget. A capsule coffee machine can be bought in hypermarkets for really low prices, starting from €30 (on sale). You can also buy a branded capsule coffee machine (e.g. from Miele) for €1500.
We consider the Dolce Gusto , Tassimo and Cafissimo systems to be very affordable .
The middle and higher price groups are made up of Nespresso coffee machines, or less common brands such as Illy .
Our TIP: Nespresso

Here are 3 advantages of this solution:
1. Our solution using a stainless steel Sealpod capsule with adhesive aluminum (or paper) lids simulates the original capsule by 99% . With this system, you can perfectly imitate a disposable capsule.
Will this capsule damage the blades in my coffee machine? No, it won't, the capsule is slightly shorter than the original, so when you close the capsule in the coffee machine, the blades won't bite into it.
We also have a solution available for baristas with the option to fill 10 stainless steel capsules in stock, including a filling station. More here.
2. Another advantage of the Nespresso system is the ability to froth milk with a steam nozzle in more expensive machines, just like in classic lever or semi-automatic coffee machines.
You don't need to use dehydrated milk in a capsule like this.
3. The third advantage is the ease of use of our capsule solution. You simply fill the capsule, stick the lid on and insert it into the coffee machine in a completely standard way.
What is the availability of Nespresso disposable capsules?
The Nespresso system has been on the market for over 20 years , it was the first capsule system ever. For this reason, there are also many non-original disposable capsules on the market.
Some roasters even produce their own disposable Nespresso capsules.
However, you cannot usually buy original and alternative disposable capsules for Nespresso in hypermarkets like you can for systems such as Dolce Gusto, Cafissimo or Tassimo. They are more available in e-shops.
Dolce Gusto

We offer two solutions for Dolce Gusto : plastic refillable capsules (our own brand) and a stainless steel Sealpod capsule with a reusable silicone lid.
Both capsules can mimic a disposable capsule very well . However, compared to the Nespresso system, they require a bit of skill in use, as the capsule needs to be positioned so that the coffee machine needle does not unnecessarily pierce it outside the designated hole.
What is the availability of Dolce Gusto disposable capsules?
Recently, non-original disposable capsules have begun to appear in hypermarket offers at more affordable prices.
Original disposable capsules are commonly available in hypermarkets.
Cafissimo / Tchibo

The Cafissimo system is also often called Caffitaly , K-fee or Versimo .
For Cafissimo , we also offer a reusable stainless steel Sealpod capsule with a silicone lid. Using the capsule is easier than with the Dolce Gusto capsule, as the capsule does not need to be specially positioned.
Please note, however, that the capsule is not compatible with the fairly common Cafissimo Pure coffee machine.
What is the availability of Cafissimo single-serve capsules?
The availability of disposable capsules for Cafissimo is slightly less compared to Dolce Gusto, the capsules are usually also available in hypermarkets.
Currently, there are also non-original disposable capsules, available primarily in e-shops.
Tassimo

The Tassimo system is also quite widespread. Unfortunately, we do not yet offer refillable capsules for this system.
If you were considering the Tassimo system, it is very similar in quality and price to the Dolce Gusto or Cafissimo systems.
Disposable capsules are commonly available in hypermarkets. Non-original disposable capsules have not yet appeared.
So if you purchase a Tassimo system, you will only need to buy original disposable capsules.
Conclusion
If you're looking for the most affordable capsule coffee machine under €50 , we'd choose Dolce Gusto . There are several types of refillable capsules available, as well as more affordable non-original disposable capsules.
If you are looking for a capsule coffee machine in the mid-range price range of around €100 , we would choose Nespresso .

An excellent alternative to capsules. The lids are easy to glue, hold well and remove without problems. I am satisfied.
