A tamper is an essential tool for preparing espresso, it is used to evenly and precisely press the coffee in the coffee maker lever. Correct tamping is one of the key factors that fundamentally affects the resulting extraction and taste of coffee .

This premium Tamper combines a spring mechanism for consistent pressure, a built-in WDT tool, and a self-leveling function.

Before pressing, you will use the integrated WDT needles, which help to evenly distribute the ground coffee in the basket and effectively eliminate lumps. The key innovation is the self-leveling design with a guide rim that rests on the edge of the portafilter during pressing. This ensures that the Tamper always remains in a perfectly horizontal position and you will never press the coffee crookedly.

The spring system then ensures a consistent and repeatable pressure every time, eliminating the variability of manual tamping. The combination of a perfectly flat puck and precise pressure prevents channeling, resulting in a more consistent flow, more even extraction, and a clean, flavorful cup of espresso.

Working with this tamper is very pleasant thanks to its solid weight, ergonomics and the materials used. The tamper base is made of stainless steel.

Tamper sizes and their common uses:

• 51 mm: Designed for espresso machines with smaller portafilters (~51 mm), especially De'Longhi, Smeg, Casabrews and other home models using a 51 mm basket. The inner diameter of the baskets is usually approximately 51.2 mm, so Tamper 51 mm is considered the ideal choice for precise and even coffee pressing.
• 53.35 mm: One of the most common sizes for 54 mm portafilters, used mainly in Breville / Sage coffee machines (e.g. barista Express, Bambino, barista Touch series). Since the inner diameter of the basket is approximately 53.7 mm, Tamper 53.35 mm fits exactly under the rim of the basket and ensures even and efficient coffee pressing. Often considered a universal size for "mid-range" home espresso coffee machines.
• 58.5mm: The standard size for 58mm portafilters, typical of professional and E61-style coffee makers, used in premium home and commercial machines. As the inner diameter of the basket is typically around 58.7mm, Tamper 58.5mm provides an ideal fit and allows for even and consistent coffee pressing.
