Bottomless portafilter 4Barista 58 mm – Sage / Breville Dual Boiler and Oracle (black handle)

The bottomless portafilter 4Barista, with a diameter of 58 mm, is designed for selected Sage and Breville coffee machines from the Dual Boiler and Oracle ranges. The open base allows you to monitor the entire espresso extraction process and easily spot channeling, uneven coffee distribution or incorrect tamping.

The portafilter head is made from 304 stainless steel. The ergonomic black portafilter handle provides a comfortable and secure grip both when preparing coffee and when inserting the lever handle into the coffee machine.

Compatible with:

• Sage / Breville Dual Boiler BES900, Sage / Breville Dual Boiler BES920, Sage / Breville Oracle BES980, Sage / Breville Oracle Touch BES990

The portafilter is designed for the listed Sage/Breville coffee machines with a 58 mm group head and a pair of locking tabs.

Not compatible with:

• 54 mm Sage/Breville coffee machines, such as the Bambino, Bambino Plus, barista Express, barista Pro, barista Touch or Infuser
• coffee machines with an E61-type group head
• Gaggia Classic, La Marzocco, Rancilio Silvia
• other coffee machines solely on the basis of a matching 58 mm diameter

Why use a bottomless lever?

• A bottomless or ‘naked’ portafilter has neither a traditional base nor a spout. The espresso therefore flows directly from the bottom of the filter basket. During brewing, you can observe whether the coffee is extracting evenly and whether the flow is centred within the basket.
• An irregular flow, splashing or multiple separate streams may indicate an unsuitable grind size, uneven distribution of coffee, incorrect tamping or channeling in the coffee bed. A bottomless lever espresso machine is therefore a practical tool for fine-tuning your recipe and improving your espresso-making technique.
• The open design also makes it easier to perform cleaning of the portafilter, as it has no base or spouts where coffee residues and oils can become trapped.
