Description

The DF64 Gen 2 is a powerful electric coffee grinder with a single-dose design. Only the amount of coffee needed for one preparation is poured into the grinder. This grinder is part of the DF64 product series. It is primarily designed for home baristas who want precise control over the grind size. It is also ideal for those who frequently switch between different types of coffee bean or brewing method. Thanks to its single-dose design, there is no need to leave coffee beans in the hopper for extended periods of time.

It is based on large, 64 mm, flat, stainless steel grinding stones, and features a smooth, micrometric adjustment without fixed steps. The DF64 Gen 2 is ideal for fine espresso grinding, but can also handle coarser settings for V60, drip coffee, AeroPress, French press, and cold brew. The second generation features a plasma anti-static system, a modified ground coffee outlet, a metal setting indicator, and a practical bellows to help push coffee residues out of the grinder.

Key features of the DF64 Gen2 coffee grinder:

 

  • Single-dose system -  you only add the exact amount of coffee required for one preparation to the grinder. This method is ideal for making frequent changes to the type of coffee used and helps keep the beans fresh.
  • The 64 mm flat grinding stones provide even grinding and good particle consistency. The standard stones can be replaced with compatible alternatives from manufacturers such as SSP, Mazzer or DLC.
  • Stepless adjustment - allows for continuous adjustment of the grinding thickness, enabling you to fine-tune the result very finely according to the coffee used, the dose and the desired extraction time.
  • Suitable for both espresso and filter coffee - the setting range covers espresso, moka pot, AeroPress, V60, drip coffee, cold brew and French press.
  • Anti-static system -  uses a plasma generator to neutralise the static electricity generated during grinding. This makes ground coffee less likely to stick to the outlet, keeping the work area cleaner.

 

  • Low coffee retention - the short, direct path of the ground coffee from the grinding stones to the outlet minimises the amount of residue inside the grinder. Consequently, the freshly ground batch is barely mixed with residues from previous grinding.
  • Silicone bellows -  pressing the bellows hopper pushes out any remaining coffee particles from the outlet channel after grinding. According to the manufacturer, the hopper has a capacity of approximately 50 g.
  • Anti-popcorn system - an integrated insert limits the bouncing of grains in the hopper, helping to ensure a smoother flow to the grinding stones.
  • Coffee can be collected into the supplied metal dosing container or ground directly into a suitable portafilter.
  • Metal setting indicator - a prominent indicator makes it easy to read the position of the adjustment ring and reset previously used values.
  • Robust metal construction - the solid body provides good stability when grinding and is designed for regular daily use.
  • Possibility of further adjustments - extended platform of 64 mm grinding stones and the availability of various accessories, allowing you to adapt the grinder to your preferred coffee preparation method.
