Description

The double-layer puck screen is a reusable metal filter which sits directly on top of the ground coffee in the portafilter prior to extraction. It creates a protective layer between the coffee and the spray from the coffee maker, helping to distribute water more evenly over the entire surface of the coffee. This reduces contamination of the brewing head and prevents the coffee from sticking to the spray.

Compared to a conventional single-layer puck screen, this model has two fine filter layers. Rather than being distributed through just one perforated surface, the water passes through a two-layer structure, which helps to suppress concentrated water streams and irrigate the coffee puck more evenly. Another advantage is its extremely thin design.

  • A more stable coffee pod surface - protects the pressed coffee from mechanical damage upon first contact with water, contributing to a more controlled extraction process.
  • 304 stainless steel - a durable material suitable for repeated use. It does not absorb odours or tastes and is easy to clean.
  • Easy to use - place the puck screen on the prepared and pressed coffee batch. After extraction, simply remove it, rinse under running water and let it dry.
  • Multiple sizes are available to fit portafilters of different sizes.
