Wacaco Prestina (clay pink) – a portable coffee maker

The Wacaco Prestina is a compact manual filter coffee maker that combines the simplicity of a French press with an innovative pressure-assisted extraction system. Instead of a traditional plunger, it uses a patented mechanism in which the cup itself operates the press. This allows you to brew full-bodied coffee with a distinctive flavour at home, in the office or while travelling, without electricity or disposable filters.

Prestina combines immersion brewing with pressure-assisted extraction. Ground coffee first steeps in hot water, while an integrated valve prevents the liquid from flowing through prematurely. When pressure is applied, the valve opens and the brewed coffee passes through a fine stainless steel filter directly into the cup. The entire process is straightforward, requires no special technique and, according to the manufacturer, can be completed in approximately two minutes, including a quick rinse.
