The Timemore Chestnut C5 Pro is an all-metal, next-generation manual coffee grinder that follows on from the popular Chestnut C3 series. Manufactured by Timemore, a brand renowned for its coffee equipment for home baristas and speciality coffee enthusiasts alike, it is the latest addition to the Chestnut series. The C5 Pro features larger 42 mm conical burrs, a sturdier construction, a more refined grind size adjustment mechanism, and an increased grinding capacity.

It is primarily designed for preparing filter coffee, such as pour-over, AeroPress or French press. The standard adjustment mechanism offers 48 clicks per rotation and a step size of 0.031 mm. This makes the grinder convenient and sufficiently precise for alternative brewing methods, and it can also be used occasionally for espresso. However, compared to the C5 ESP Pro model, the C5 Pro has larger adjustment steps and is not primarily designed for very fine espresso tuning.

  • 42 mm S2C-042-III burrs - the new conical grinding burrs with seven blades feature a universal geometry and provide faster and more consistent grinding than the 38 mm burrs of the previous C3 series.
  • Optimised for filter coffee - the standard adjustment range is designed primarily for users preparing pour-over coffee and other alternative brewing methods. The finer setting also allows for the occasional preparation of espresso.
  • 48 clicks per rotation - The entire adjustment range of the C5 Pro model can be covered in a single revolution of the adjustment mechanism, allowing for quick and easy changes to the grind size.
  • Accuracy of 0.031 mm per click -  allows you to fine-tune the grind size according to the coffee used, the recipe, and the brewing method.
  • Sophisticated adjustment mechanism - provides more distinct and tactile clicks, making each adjustment easier to monitor.
  • All-metal construction - the grinder’s body is made from stainless steel and aluminium for an all-metal construction. This sturdy, one-piece design minimises unwanted flexing and promotes the stability of the burrs.
  • Capacity of up to 30 g of coffee – the burr chamber holds approximately 30 g of coffee beans and the grounds container has a capacity of approximately 25 g. The grinder is therefore also suitable for preparing larger batches of filter coffee.
  • Wide filling opening - the wide top opening makes it easier to pour in coffee beans and reduces the risk of them spilling outside the grinder.
  • Compact body with a diameter of 53 mm – the slim, cylindrical design is comfortable to hold even when grinding harder, lighter-roasted beans.
  • Fold-down handle – the handle can be folded down closer to the body of the grinder, making it easier to store and carry.
  • Non-slip base - the soft base improves the stability of the container and protects the work surface from scratches.
