BooKoo baskets are the result of a collaboration between the BooKoo brand and PCL (Precision Coffee Lab). These are precision filter baskets designed for demanding home baristas and professionals who want absolute control over espresso extraction.
The Cylin model (Straight-Wall Basket) is characterized by strictly vertical walls and a high density of holes covering the entire area of its bottom. This structural approach maximizes the usable extraction area, earned the basket a reputation as a versatile tool capable of delivering stable performance across any brewing style.
The main advantage of the Cylin model is its ability to achieve a high extraction yield, while preserving the clean and expressive character of light-roasted beans. At the same time, it can also work with darker roasts, where it effectively highlights the body of the beverage without letting unwanted bitterness caused by uneven leaching pass into the cup. It is therefore an ideal choice for baristas who like to alternate between different flavor profiles and seek a reliable, modern espresso experience with every single dose.
Main advantages that distinguish them from regular baskets:
- Targeted hole geometry - The holes are not just "drilled" in number but are strategically distributed (mapped with intent). They are laser-cut with micron precision, and their density and placement are calculated to eliminate "dead zones" (places at the edges where coffee extracts slower).
