The Fellow Opus 2 is an all-purpose, electric, single-dose coffee grinder designed for making both espresso and filter coffee. It has a wide grind range, covering espresso, AeroPress®, drip coffee, pour-over, French press and cold brew. It has 48 mm conical stainless steel burrs and external stepless adjustment, allowing you to fine-tune the grind size precisely without needing to adjust anything inside the grinder.

The second-generation Opus Gen 2 is a significantly redesigned version of the original Fellow Opus grinder. Compared to the first generation, it uses larger 48 mm conical burrs instead of 40 mm, enabling it to grind a single espresso shot in approximately nine seconds. The original combination of external and internal adjustment mechanisms has been replaced by a simpler, stepless external adjustment dial, making it easier to fine-tune the espresso and quickly switch to a coarser grind. The improved ioniser reduces static electricity more effectively, and the package now includes two magnetic containers – a larger one for filter coffee and a smaller one for espresso, which is compatible with 54 mm and 58 mm portafilters. Therefore, it is not just a design update; it is a grinder that is simpler, faster and more versatile in practice.

  • Single-dose system – the bean hopper is designed to hold a pre-measured coffee dose of coffee beans just before grinding.
  • Automatic stop – when the button is pressed briefly, the grinder detects that grinding is complete and stops automatically. Pressing and holding the button starts a 45-second cycle.
  • Ultra-low retention – a redesigned outlet path and internal impeller help guide the ground coffee into the container and minimise stirring of the fresh batch with residues from the previous grind.
  • Anti-static technology – an integrated ionizer reduces the static build-up, the clumping of ground coffee and mess around the grinder.
  • Two magnetic containers – the large catch cup has a capacity of 100 g, whilst the 30 g espresso dosing cup is compatible with 54 and 58 mm portafilters.
  • Built-in grind adjustment guide – the underside of the lid features recommended grind ranges for different coffee brewing methods.
  • Measuring compartments in the lid – the plastic lid can be used to measure approximate doses of 20 or 40 g; filling the entire lid corresponds to approximately 100 g.
  • Easy maintenance – the burrs can be accessed without the use of tools, and the cleaning brush attaches magnetically to the back of the grinder
