Which Dolce Gusto coffee maker?

Are you planning to buy a Dolce Gusto coffee machine ? We have summarized the basic pros and cons of each model, with which our refillable Dolce Gusto capsules are compatible, which we offer for only €16.90 / set of 3 capsules.

Dolce Gusto Piccolo

Probably the most popular model at the moment, mainly because of the price. The Piccolo coffee maker can be purchased on sale from €36 including VAT. The Piccolo coffee maker is very simple in terms of functions and controls.

It offers 2 functions: hot and cold water. Nothing more, but what more could we need, especially at this price :-).

The coffee maker offers a pressure of 15 bars, a water tank capacity of 0.6l. This is a really small coffee maker, suitable for a smaller kitchen or office. Given its size, the height of the mug can be adjusted, which will please every lover of hot chocolate or frappé. The smaller water tank can be a minus if you have a coffee maker in the office (without a sink) and want to enjoy coffee more often. The coffee maker also lacks a water dispenser function.

Advantages : price, compactness.

Disadvantages : smaller water tank, lack of water dosage adjustment.

Dolce Gusto Genio

Similar in design to the Picolo model, but more functionally advanced. The Dolce Gusto Genio coffee machine offers an interesting feature, which is a water dispenser. On the original capsules, the manufacturer indicates the volume of water needed to prepare the drink in strips. These strips can be adjusted on the Genio coffee machine. The Genio coffee machine only dispenses the selected amount of water into the cup.

The second difference is the size of the tank, which is 1l, which again resulted in slightly larger dimensions.

The water dispensing function makes the coffee maker relatively expensive. You can buy a Genio coffee maker for around €100. So it's up to you to decide whether you need water dispensing.

Advantages : water dosing function

Disadvantages : higher price

Dolce Gusto Melody

Like the Genio, the Melody coffee machine offers an automatic water dispenser, as well as a larger tank with a capacity of 1.3 liters.

You can purchase the Melody coffee maker for around €70.

Dolce Gusto Circolo

An older model, which has already been discontinued. The coffee maker offers almost identical functions to the Picolo model. The difference is in the shape of the device. As the name suggests, the device has an oval shape. The difference is also in the capacity of the water tank. The Circolo coffee maker offers a volume of 1.3l. The water dispensing function is missing.

Dolce Gusto Creativa

Also an older model, which is mostly no longer available for purchase. This model offered probably the largest range of functions. The Creativa coffee machine has a color display, through which it is possible to set the water dosage for individual types of drinks with the option of memory. The display can also signal the end of water in the tank. Tank volume 1.5l. Pressure the same as other models, 15 bars.
